Urban Effects and its partner Playground Centre were the proud field sponsors for the NZILA Conference held in Gisborne recently.

Field trips

The field trips involved four sites over two days and focused on capturing the cultural history and modern day identity of regional towns in a memorable landscape design.

Attendees were prompted to consider what makes memorable unique places; how to build places with difference; and what leads to some designs being more successful and enduring than others.

The integration of ecological restoration, sustainable agriculture and story-telling were also key themes across the sites which included Orongo / Nick’s Head Station, Rhythm & Vines at Waiohika and Longbush Ecosanctuary.
