Western Springs Lakeside Te Wai Ōrea Park

Fresh, Practical, Simple

Fun, connection and accessibility were key focuses for Auckland Council when upgrading the popular Western Springs Lakeside Te Wai Ōrea Park.

Centred around an ecology theme, new pathways doubling as beginner bike riding tracks meander between play zones, each dotted with natural elements and new shade sails.

A selection of new seats, benches and platforms from Urban Effects’ simple yet stylish Limitless Liffiton range creates inviting, communal spaces for individuals, couples and large family groups alike to enjoy a great day outdoors.

Ridges and steps were removed, and new surfaces installed in the park to ensure wheelchairs, prams and visitors with impaired mobility could also enjoy the area easily.

Families and groups of all abilities can also display their grilling skills, thanks to the installation of several Urban Effects’ single and double contour barbeques. The specifically designed cabinets cater for wheelchair users, while the large bench tops have plenty of room for all and superior temperature control and power-saving features ensure its eco-friendly without sacrificing cooking performance.
