Te Ara Ātea – Rolleston Library
Fresh, Practical, Simple
Te Ara Ātea, the new cultural centre at the heart of Rolleston, encourages visitors to gather to learn, connect and relax – inside and out.
More than a decade in the planning by Selwyn District Council , this project – combining library, museum, gallery and sensory garden – was the first in a number of stages to create a fitting centre for one of New Zealand’s fastest growing towns.
Urban Effects proudly partnered with paving and landscape specialists Waitohu to provide a range of stylish yet durable seating options throughout the precinct, complemented by thriving gardens.
The modular seating from Urban Effects’ i-Box Collection, with hidden low LED lighting and stainless steel skate deterrents, partnered with Alterego hardwood timber bench and seat tops, provide the perfect vantage points to stop, relax and enjoy the public art, gardens and water features.
