Suqian Friendship Garden, Queens Park, Invercargill

The Suqian Friendship Garden, in Queens Park, further cements the connection between Invercargill City Council and Suqian City of Jiangsu province, China.

Suqian City provided the initial design plans and the centre piece, the Friendship Bronze Cauldron, for the garden, now described as a ‘vision of serenity’.

To achieve a high level of authenticity , Council worked with us to customise their Heaphy Bench seats to feature bespoke red arm rests and galvanised steel leg panels.

In Chinese culture, the colour red symbolises happiness, beauty, vitality, good luck, success and good fortune.
