Subway & Z Service station

Stunning Lake Taupo is Australasia’s largest lake and offers a year-round array of amazing experiences for visitors. The lake was once a powerful volcano and the area has many geothermal phenomena to explore. With hundreds of people flocking to this area every day, local service centres need furniture that will withstand a high volume of use.

Only a few hundred metres off the national highway and five minutes from Lake Taupo, the Z Service Station, with Subway restaurant, has recently opened and is already proving a popular facility for hundreds of travellers.

We were pleased to assist with fitting out this rest stop with the perfect furniture for the outdoor eating areas.

Every project has its own individual quirks, and this project brought a uniquely New Zealand challenge: the sulphuric volcanic atmosphere. Not only did the furniture of course have to be comfortable and functional, it also needed to be hardwearing and low maintenance enough to cope with the unique environmental conditions.

Working in partnership with our client, we selected the Urban Effects Citistyle range of table settings and litter bins. These sleek, attractive products feature marine grade aluminium extrusions and clear anodised aluminium frames and come with a lifetime structural warranty.

Longlasting and hardy, they are a low maintenance option for high traffic areas, and are vandal resistant, vermin resistant and have super strong reinforced fixings. Combine these great features with a slick modern look and you have all the ingredients for a pit stop area that offers visitors every convenience and comfort.
