Selwyn Sports Centre, Rolleston

The community of Selwyn, one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing districts, has access to an amazing  new indoor sport and recreation facility which provides locals of all ages with a multitude of ways to stay active and healthy all-year round.

Selwyn Sports Centre, constructed by Apollo Projects for the Selwyn District Council, is a massive 8,000m² complex which boasts eight indoor courts, spaces for group fitness classes, indoor walking track, playground and amenities.

Urban Effects proudly supplied seating solutions for the complex. Our 6m-long Metro Stackable Benches and Metro 2-Tier Grandstands were chosen for their versatility and NZ made quality and durability. The free-standing, stackable benches and portable grandstands are made from premium quality lightweight aluminium, giving the facility’s managers the flexibility to move seating for players and spectators from court to court, event to event.

Made by Urban Effects in our Whanganui manufacturing facility, the benches and grandstands ensured Apollo Projects had one less obstacle to surmount in delivering the sports centre for the Council and community in time for the start of the 2021 Winter sports season.
