Ormiston Primary School

The new Ormiston Primary School in Aotearoa is a place where good health and participation in sporting and outdoor activities is promoted to develop key competencies as well as perseverance, healthy competition and athletic ability.

In line with this, Urban Effects was proud to be involved in encouraging students to ride bikes and scooters to and from school by providing suitable facilities. Working with Hawkins Infrastructure, we were able to customise and construct a shelter to match the exact architectural specifications to maximise the amount of bikes while reflecting the look and feel of architecture around the new school.  The project was completed in time to welcome those arriving by ‘pedal power’ on the first day of the school’s opening.
