Wairoa Playground, Hawke’s Bay

On the banks of the Wairoa River, there’s a sprawling play space that has become a family-favourite destination for Hawke’s Bay residents and holiday-makers.

Wairoa Playground on Marine Parade has been a place for all-ages fun and adventure since 2017 and just one focal point for the Waroia District Council’s ongoing development of the attractions on offer in the popular tourist town.

In 2021, Urban Effects partnered with the Council to widen the park’s appeal with the addition of a sheltered BBQ area. Now, families and friends can cook breakfast, lunch or dinner while the kids work up an appetite in the playground!

Our Wave Shelter was simply made for the location.
