Selwyn College

Fostering a love of sport and a lifelong appreciation of the benefits of an active lifestyle is part of the ethos at Selwyn College in Auckland, and the high school prides itself on providing first class sporting grounds and facilities for its students.

The College teamed up with Urban Effects to install spectator seating alongside their rugby field, turning their game day atmosphere up a notch by providing their supporters with a grandstand view of the on-field action.

The grandstand, which is built into an embankment on one side of the playing field and constructed from two of our Metro 4-Tier Grandstands, provides seating for over 100 spectators.

We worked with the College from concept to completion – from the initial drawings to site preparation, which included earthworks and drainage to the construction of a retaining wall and concrete pad, right through to the installation of the two, six-metre-wide grandstands.
