Victoria Park Basketball Park

Auckland City Council has teamed up with digital services company, Spark, to build basketball parks in the city’s five ‘Boroughs’

Thanks to the Boroughs Project, the city’s youth are connecting on and off the court, with Spark offering ballers free WiFi at each location.

Designed to be hubs for community basketball, the courts are there for friends to get together and play ball and are available as venues for basketball coaching and skills development, as well as tournaments.

At the Victoria Park facility in Central Auckland, Urban Effects’ portable grandstands have been used to provide basketballers and their supporters a place to hang out, catch their breath and watch the on-court action.

Manufactured from durable marine-grade aluminium, the grandstands are designed to offer maximum stability and stand up to all weather conditions, while also being easy to move around. The grandstands can sit from 12 adults (on the 2 tier 3m stand) to 52 adults (on the 4 tier x 6m stand) and can be customised to include signage.
