Matamata Piako Civic Centre

The new Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre opened to the public on 19 March 2018. The building is a multi-purpose facility offering an accessible community hub that has been built to meet the current and future needs of the Matamata Community. It includes Matamata council offices, Matamata library, war memorial and foyer as well as a range of flexible and affordable halls and meeting spaces. The result – a new vibrant community space which seamlessly encompasses both the council and community needs. It is a modern space which welcomes visitors, whilst offering a respectful memorial to those who grace the walls.

Urban Effects worked with Stanley Group Construction in the supply of ‘Clos’ Corten bike racks & multipurpose Liffiton hardwood benches chosen for their minimalistic look to complete the surrounding buildings and grounds. The stylish individual bike racks are made from laser cut steel sheets and offer an understated design to complement the hardwood benches and complete the surrounding garden and landscape perfectly.
